The Global Security News: 1. US Security from Michael_Novakhov (88 sites): Eurasia Review: Pakistan’s Imran Khan To Visit China

(RFE/RL) — Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit China next week to meet its leaders and deliver a keynote speech at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing.

China has pledged about $60 billion in the form of loans and investments as part of its Belt and Road initiative, which aims to build road and maritime trading routes across the world.

The high-profile meeting on April 26-27 will bring together dozens of heads of states, including Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“In addition to participating in the Belt and Road Forum, the prime minister would also hold bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on April 17.

The two countries will sign several pacts to enhance cooperation, and Khan will meet business leaders, the ministry added.

Khan’s visit to China comes as Pakistan faces a deepening economic crisis.

Pakistan has reached an “agreement in principle” with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over a $6 billion bailout package.

Islamabad has recently secured billions of dollars in loans from allies China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Global Security News: 1. US Security from Michael_Novakhov (88 sites): Eurasia Review: American Bumblebees Under Threat Of Extinction

The American Bumblebee – a species once more commonly seen buzzing around Southern Ontario – is critically endangered, according to a new study led by York University.

The finding, published in Journal of Insect Conservation, found the native North American species, Bombus pensylvanicus, is facing imminent extinction from Canada, considered the highest and most at-risk classification before extinction. Many bumblebee species are rapidly declining across North America, but are important pollinators needed to grow Canada’s crops including apples, tomatoes, blueberries and legumes, as well as countless types of trees, shrubs, and wildflowers.

The researchers assessed the extinction risk of the American
Bumblebee, ranking the risk much higher than a federal advisory
committee’s most recent assessment which classifies the species’
extinction risk at special concern.

“This species is at risk of extinction and it’s currently not protected in any way despite the drastic decline,” said Assistant Professor Sheila Colla, an expert in bees and endangered species in the Faculty of Environmental Studies.

“Now that we have assessed the extent of the decline and located
where the remaining populations are, we can look more closely at threats
and habitat requirements to design an effective conservation management
plan so that this species does not disappear from Canada forever,” said
Colla, who co-authored and helped design the study.

Colla has been studying bumblebees in Southern Ontario since the
mid-2000s. This study relies on the annual data that she and her fellow
researchers have collected.

The study’s research team – led by Victoria MacPhail, Colla’s
doctoral student, and including a scientist from the University of
Vermont – used data from three sources. They analyzed Southern Ontario
data from the citizen science program, Bumble Bee Watch,
a collaboration of volunteers who submit bumblebee photos through a
website or phone app for experts to identify. The researchers used the
Bumble Bees of North America database to obtain records of bumblebee
species in Ontario and Quebec dating back to the late-1800s. They also
used their own field survey work which allowed them to evaluate the
status of the species within its Canadian range, using the
globally-recognized International Union for the Conservation of Nature
(IUCN) Red List assessment criteria.

The researchers found that the American Bumblebee’s area of
occurrence has decreased by about 70 percent and its relative abundance
fell by 89 percent from 2007-2016 compared to 1907-2006.

“This bumblebee species now has a reduced overall range,”
explained MacPhail. “It used to stretch from Windsor to Toronto, and all
the way to Ottawa and into the Quebec area, but it is now only found in
some core areas and has experienced a 37 percent decrease in overall
range.”

“It’s now a rare sighting in Toronto,” said MacPhail. “In terms
of relative abundance, compared to other bees, you’d have to catch 1,000
bumblebees to find four of this species, and that compares to finding
37 bees in the past. You could walk out the door and win the lottery and
find it, or you could be searching for years and not find any.”

This study echoes Colla’s previous findings with the critically
endangered Rusty-patched Bumblebee, once found in Southern Ontario. The
species has not been seen in Canada for about ten years and drastically
declined towards extinction without receiving protection or conservation
management.

“The American bumblebee is still found in areas throughout its
Canadian range and immediate action may save it from the same fate as
the Rusty-patched Bumblebee,” said Colla.

The Global Security News: 1. US Security from Michael_Novakhov (88 sites): Eurasia Review: Mueller Was Supposed To Be Democrats’ Savior, But Now They’re Out For Blood – OpEd

By Danielle Ryan*

The Mueller report has finally dropped and instead of being relieved to discover, once and for all, that the president didn’t collude with a foreign power to steal an election, Democrats and media pundits are utterly devastated.

This is America in the era of Russiagate.

The partly-redacted, nearly 400-page report,
delivered to Congress on Thursday afternoon, offered no new evidence or
indication that Donald Trump or his 2016 campaign were in cahoots with
Moscow to prevent Hillary Clinton from ascending to what Democrats
believed was her rightful presidential throne.

Of course, their high expectations for the report had already come crashing down when Mueller wrapped up his investigation mid-March and Attorney General Bob Barr sent a four-page letter summarizing its anti-climactic findings to Congress. No evidence of collusion, it said.

The opposition party and the media’s most ardent Russiagate pushers had been moving the goalposts on “collusion”
for months. In the earliest days of the two-year investigation, Special
Counsel Robert Mueller was given savior status; he would be the one,
they said, who would deliver them from the evil of the Trump presidency. “Wait for the Mueller report!” they had screamed, as the weeks and months dragged on with “bombshell” after “bombshell” evaporating into thin air.

“Wait for the Mueller report!” quickly morphed into “Barr must be lying — wait for the full Mueller report!”

But
Barr hammered the final nail into the Russiagate coffin on Thursday as
he emphatically reiterated during a pre-release press conference that
evidence to support theories of collusion did not exist and that all
Americans should be “grateful” to hear that news. They were not
grateful, though. In fact, they were acutely distressed by the news
that Trump had been telling the truth about “no collusion” all along.

On the question of whether Trump had obstructed the investigation, Mueller’s report offered Russiagaters slightly more hope, in that it did not make a final determination and suggested that congress has the authority to take action in that regard.

But Barr enraged reporters by arguing it was necessary to take “context” into consideration when assessing potential obstruction. He said Trump faced an “unprecedented situation,” “relentless” media speculation and held a “sincere belief” that the investigation was “undermining his presidency.”

He also noted that Trump “took no act” that deprived Mueller of documents necessary to conduct the investigation and said he believed there had been no “corrupt intent” to hamper it. Not only that, but Barr also told shell-shocked reporters that Trump had not exerted executive privilege over parts of the report (as he legally could have done), “in the interests of transparency.”

Russiagaters masked their disappointment by trying, in endless formations, to spin the situation into a vindication of their theories; ‘Barr is lying for Trump!’ ‘Maybe Mueller was in on it?’ ‘He didn’t investigate the right things!’ ‘It wasn’t about collusion, it was about obstruction!’ – and the most pathetic of all attempts: ‘It doesn’t matter anyway, we know in our hearts collusion is real!’

The fact that the report was partly redacted (“standard for prosecutors handling sensitive information,” as the New York Times put it), triggered yet another meltdown from Democrats and Russiagate media stalwarts in advance of its publication. Casual observers of this seemingly never-ending saga might have been led to believe the report would be redacted beyond all comprehension. Indeed, it appears as though that’s what Russiagate truthers would have preferred. The more redactions, the bigger the scope for new conspiracy theories to emerge. Sadly for them, Barr also said an almost completely unredacted version would soon be made available to a bipartisan group in congress.

In a sign of just how desperate they had become, Democrats also
spiralled into a total frenzy on Wednesday upon hearing that the
aforementioned press conference would be held before the report was
handed over to Congress. They genuinely seemed to believe that Barr
might stand in front of the entire news media and lie about the contents
of a document he was about to post publicly online a couple of hours
later.

Why did it matter that he held a press conference summarizing its findings before the release? It didn’t matter, of course, but it was something to cling to. Remember, the Democrats and the media spent two years convincing Americans that Trump and members of his family were going to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the White House in handcuffs – so, at this point, they’ll latch on to anything.

Focus will now shift to Mueller’s expected testimony before Congress,
which is due to happen no later than May 23 – and some are still
holding out hope that the investigator will pull through at the last
minute and say or do something to rehabilitate the entire narrative.

Journalist Aaron Mate, who has painstakingly covered the Russiagate drama, noted on Twitter that Mueller at times used “suggestive wording”
in his report while simultaneously acknowledging that no evidence of
collusion actually exists. This is likely what Democrats will be
watching for during his testimony; any shred of doubt or uncertainty
from Mueller on even the tiniest of details.

At the end of the
day, however, the fact will remain that Mueller overturned every
Russiagate rock and did not charge or arrest even one American for
conspiring or colluding with Moscow, despite issuing more than 2,800
subpoenas, 500-plus search warrants and interviewing about 500 witnesses
in excruciating detail.

But Russiagate was really always about Democrats and their inability to accept two basic truths: Hillary Clinton lost the election because she ran a terrible campaign – and because of the abject failure of the US political system to deliver basic changes that Americans want and need. Trump offered them hope, however false, of something new – and he won. There is no bigger mystery.

But the cries of “collusion!” will continue for months, if
not years, and the media will meticulously pick apart the pages of the
Mueller report for weeks, hoping to land on something that can credibly
carry the conspiracy forward – and as they do so, they will be handing
Trump a great gift going into the 2020 election.

Years from now,
when Trump is hosting some post-presidency reality TV show or living out
the rest of his days at Mar-a-Lago (rather than in a prison cell),
Rachel Maddow will probably still be ruminating over the finer details
of the investigation and inviting the most discredited analysts onto her
nutty show to help figure out how it all went wrong. Luke Harding is
likely gearing up to write a sequel to his “COLLUSION” best-seller as we speak. Maybe he can call the next one “COVERUP” and profit off Russiagate for another two years.

The elaborate and demented conspiracies of Russiagate could fill a library, but the strangest thing of all about this saga might just be how much they fiercely wanted it to be true.

The Facebook’s editors and their system of CENSORSHIP are the absolute retards, and that is exactly what the New Abwehr and (their long time agent) Putin wanted: to restrict the freedom of information on the Internet. It appears that the FBI is the part of this CENSORSHIP, “for security reasons”, ostensibly; but in fact because The (Stupid) Dogs just cannot resist poking their bulbous noses into everything that is able to excite their doggy attention.
The Stupid Facebook rejects my posts on the ground that they “do not meet the community standards”, while these posts are just the reprints, the  copies of the links to the mainstream press articles from the Google searches. The Facebook runs scared and crazy, the FBI terrorized them to death, and into the construction of the virtual Panopticon Observation Prison cum Jewish Mother + glassy-eyed Jewish Accountant pretending to be the Face Of The World and Mr. Very Sociable himself.
Facebook is the very retarded “social marketplace” for their masses of the retarded customers.
Und ziz iz my Opini’on.
The question is, my dear America: why do you allow these entities and these people to decide how and with whom you should communicate, what news you should read, and what friends you should make?
Isn’t it much too much? Isn’t it one of the roots of our current troubles?
Facebook has to be broken up, just like AT&T was, they became the dangerous social media and communications (!!! – that’s what is important) monopoly. Replace it with the non for profit business model, make it better, truly social, and maybe even “socialist”, it would fit it to the T.
Investigate the investigators! Save America! Reform the FBI now!
FBI is a very sick, Mafia and Nazi style type of the organisation staffed with shrewd but brainless and soulless psychopaths. It has to be studied and researched in depth. Their sick, unlawful, low, cynical, gypsy mentality type “secrets” and “mysteries” have to be exposed and revealed. This stupid, brainless, ever hungry, dysfunctional, ugly Beast feeds on America and her people. They are worse than KGB and Gestapo, and they are stupider too.
Their “hair analysts” gave the wrong testimonies and sent the innocent people to prison simply because they wanted to “make the grade”, to please their superiors, and to move up the ladder. Read about it, including my blogs and sites.
They have to be destroyed, abolished, and those who deserve it should be prosecuted themselves. I could not and still cannot believe that all this, including their infamous COINTELPRO “operations” were happening in America!
And in addition to all that, they are simply incompetent and are not able to carry out their duties properly.
I also think that the FBI is the major threat to the sanity and the mental health of the American people.
The FBI “COINTELPRO specialists” literally and deliberately drive you crazy, and those very talanted artistic nincompoops sincerely believe, in accordance with their limited intellectual capacities, that this is exactly their job to do.
They became the inspiring model for the many monstrous “secret security services” around the world, and lately for the Israeli private spying firms who developed and expanded ad criminal absurdum the COINTELPRO tactics and techniques. Read about those firms activities and interference in 2016 Elections.
And you better investigate all of the above, my dear America!
After I posted this tirade, the stupid FBI panicked and blocked my websites. They managed to brake into The FBI News Review  and messed it up. Thank you, the Great American Democracy and the Great American Freedom of Speech! Thank you Obama, and the rest of you!
Now my sites are up again; visit them and read my posts and pages!

The Global Security News: 1. Russia from Michael_Novakhov (115 sites): Window on Eurasia — New Series: Daghestanis Call for Challenging Chechnya’s Landgrab as Ingush Opposition Demands Moscow Intervene Against Yevkurov

Paul Goble
Staunton, April 18 – The Daghestani Public Commission on Border Demarcations says that Chechnya last month committed “a crude violation” of the law when it unilaterally included some disputed land within the borders of Chechnya and demanded that the authorities challenge Grozny’s action by all available means.
Meanwhile, in the face of growing repression and official opposition, the opposition in Ingushetia, which came together last fall to challenge the cession of Ingush land to Chechnya by Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, has called for Moscow to intervene to force Yunus-Bek Yevkurov to negotiate with the opposition and address their grievances about him and the border.
At a session of the Daghestani Public Commission formed by Makhachkala after activists complained of the secrecy in talks between Chechnya and Daghestan, lawyer Abas Gaydarov said Chechnya’s unilateral demarcation of part of the border was illegal and should be challenged in Russian courts (kavkaz-uzel.eu/articles/334442/ and chernovik.net/content/lenta-novostey/gde-stoit-granica-dagestana-i-chechni-glazami-obshchestvennoy-komissii).
The Daghestani republic government may be ready to act on this call: Today, the authorities there called for bids on a contract to use drones to photograph the borders with Chechnya (and also with Stavropol Kray and Kalmykia, pictures that could be used in court (capost.media/news/policy/dagestan-reshil-fotografirovat-granitsy-i-potratit-na-eto-2-8-mln-rubley-/).
Meanwhile in Ingushetia, the Ingush Committee for National Unity denounced the continuing repressions of Yevkurov’s government, pledged to continue their protests within the law to seek the replacement of his government and the reversal of the September 2018 border accord and called on Moscow to send a high-level delegation to start talks between the opposition and the Ingush government (fortanga.org/2019/04/zayavlenie-ingushskogo-komiteta-natsionalnogo-edinstva/).
The Committee declared that “practically the entire adult population of the Republic of Ingushetia” is on the side of the protesters. The only ones who aren’t are those who feed at the public trough.  “Today, the Ingush people remains on one side, and the authorities on another, with the latter considering their main task the suppression” of the former.
Yevkurov’s repressive actions aren’t working, the Committee continues. Instead, “each step of illegal pressure by the authorities is having a boomerang effect,” intensifying the commitment of the opposition to his regime. Dislike of Yevkurov and his team is so great that people don’t want to see him at weddings and funerals and close the door if they appear.
“In the existing situation,” the Committee says, “the federal authorities must think now about how to put more protesters behind bars but how to correct a situation in which the republic finds itself as a result of the incompetent administrative policies of the Ingush leadership.” And to that end, it should send a commission to Magas to organize talks.
The first order of business should be the immediate and unqualified release of all the prisoners the Ingush and Russian authorities are holding for participation in protest actions.  If Yevkurov won’t talk, the situation will deteriorate and affect not only the republic but “all of Russia.” The Committee has no wish to see that happen.
“It is obvious,” the Committee concludes, “that those guilty for the current situation in Ingushetia are the leaders of the Ingush Republic who are trying to push the struggle of the Ingush people beyond the legal limits in order to be in a position to subject them to massive repressions.”
Meanwhile, there were three other developments in Ingushetia over the last 24 hours:
·         The Yevkurov government continued its campaign of arrests, detentions, and fines (zamanho.com/?p=6529).
·         Magas efused to give permission for a demonstration on April 26 to mark the anniversary of the Moscow law on addressing the problems of repressed peoples, something that was not unexpected because it has done so in the past as well (kavkaz-uzel.eu/articles/334444/and kavkaz-uzel.eu/articles/334447/).
·         And the Ingush interior ministry reported that it has confiscated a variety of guns and ammunition from the population over the last week, with many people turning in weapons voluntarily (zamanho.com/?p=6520).
